ONE YEAR WITHOUT MAMA
My mama has been gone now for ONE YEAR! Time goes so fast it’s crazy! I can’t believe that she’s been gone for that long! At times I will be driving down the street and think to myself, I should call mom! I used to call and talk to her every week, sometimes twice. I miss those phone calls and conversations with her! She always had such words of wisdom for me. I will treasure them forever!
Now that she’s been gone, I feel in a way that I lean on her example more than I did when she was here. I’m not sure why that is, but I’m constantly thinking of her and about what she would tell me, to solve a certain problem or dilemma. I loved her advice and always hung up the phone with more resolve to do things better.
My mama was so close to God. She lived a life full of faith and obedience. Her impact on me and my family has been immeasurable. My belief in God came first from her, until I had enough to stand on my own. I pray every day that my impact on my own family will be as amazing as hers was on her family! What a legacy she has left!
MOTHER’S DAY SHOULDN’T HAVE ANY REGRETS
I know there are many of you out there who may have regrets and for sure disappointments associated with your own family. That can make this day very hard. But one thing I’m so grateful for is knowing that I did the best job I knew how to do while raising my boys, and I believe most mothers do. For sure there were a lot of mistakes along the way, but I did all I knew how, to be a good mama! Now that they’re raised and on their own, my job still is the same…. TO LOVE THEM!
I remember talking one day to my mom about this very thing. She prayed over her family every morning and night, and when I’m praying over mine, I think of her down on her knees! She made lots of mistakes too, but always remained steady and strived every day to do her best. I LOVE that the most about her! My mothering hasn’t stopped and nor did hers. She has and continues to have a huge impact on her family!

How am I getting by without mama this Mother’s Day? With lots of memories, lots of time with my own family, lots of prayer, and especially lots of faith just like she had! HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY to you all! I hope this is a LOVELY DAY and that above all you feel LOVED by your children, grandchildren, and all those who you have an influence over!

Thank you 💖 I am the same way, thinking about Mom’s example and how it impacts my life for the better every single day.
She was THE BEST MAMA in the world…. it seems too, that I become more and more amazed at what she was able to accomplish each day! Can’t believe it’s been one year! Hope you had a wonderful Mother’s Day big sis! XO
Oh Shuna, I lost my sweet Mom October 22, 2021 I miss her terribly as does the rest of my family. She was an amazing woman. This is our year of what I call firsts it has not been easy but we try to laugh allot and remember her funny personality. Thank you for sharing.
Erika you just never REALLY know how it feels until it happens to you! She passed just a couple of days after my mama’s birthday (what would have been her birthday). That’s all we can do is to remember all the tender times we had with them, and talk about those times with our families! BLESS YOU! Thank you for stopping by! XO
