My Summer Beach Style

You know how I cringe at the thoughts of wearing a swimsuit in public! I will if I have to, but with much hesitation and NON-confidence! So I work my way round the issue with other kinds of SUMMER SWIM STYLE!

When I got this fun kimono from CHICOS for my trip to Santa Fe, my first thought was to wear it at the beach! It’s so lightweight and easy-breezy and perfect for that setting! And then I went to my denim cutoffs that I’ve had for more years than I’d like to admit! I added my tee, or you could add your swimsuit, and then a colorful headscarf! And then all of that called for my white sunnies and some fun beaded jewelry, and I loved it for the beach! The only problem was that I don’t have a real beach here in Utah, and so I went to the beautiful Salt Flats and pretended that that was my beach!

But honestly, these fun kimonos that we’re seeing everywhere are so much fun! The best thing to use as a cover-up poolside or oceanside! I wear them everywhere, and hope they never go “out of style”!!!

Stay tuned for more fun styles at the Salt Flats! It’s quite a drive for me, and so when I go, I pack my car full of fun things to photograph! Have an amazing week my friends! I’ve got another busy one ahead of me!

Shop my style here! You’ll notice that I’m wearing these cute Ugg slides AGAIN! My last three posts…..all styled a different way. Getting my money’s worth, that’s for sure! My earrings here are from GrayC Glass, and are here. I LOVE Courtney’s work!!! Oh and one more thing…..this new lipgloss by Chanel is my favorite right now! It was given to me from a very good friend! The color is called Amuse-Bouche #738, and it has the best shine!

  1. We had a fantastic time at the Salt Flats when we were on holiday from Christchurch New Zealand. Mu husband had always wanted to go there, so was rather special. Was quite a crowd then in August when we were there. Love your blog and what a great idea for the beach etc.

    1. SUE!!!! All the way from New Zealand??? That’s SO COOL!!!! Next time you’re here, let’s go together and take some pics! XO

  2. Love that kimono! I wish you had more confidence in your ability to wear a bathing suit in public though….

    1. Hi Carol……I’ll never feel totally comfy in a swimsuit! I don’t think I even was when I was young!!!! XO

  3. Oh my gosh!! You have nothing to be self conscious about!!! After 50 some years WE ALL deserve to look and feel the way we want. Those jean shorts are the cutest. Once again, you let us know it’s not always about what’s currently on trend, BUT you should wear what looks good on you and what makes you feel good. Still looking for that kimono, I have it narrowed down to 3 maybe 4 lol. I promise I will choose one before vacation!!

    1. Cheryl….you are the BEST Chic Over 50 fan EVER!!!!! I love you girl! Did you get yourself a kimono yet???? XOXO
