REDISCOVERING THE BEAUTY OF CALIFORNIA – OCEANSIDE

Rediscovering the beauty of California a couple of weeks ago with my bestie, SheShe, was a THRILLING adventure. Undoubtedly a journey that was nothing short of extraordinary! We’ve traveled extensively together and are always excited to explore new places and discover all the hidden gems! Firstly, traveling with VISIT CALIFORNIA was an absolute delight as they curated an itinerary that included all the hot spots. If you were to follow this exact agenda, your experience is guaranteed to be amazing! Additionally, being hosted by VISIT OCEANSIDE added another layer of hospitality to our trip.

This blog will be the first of a three-part series of my trip. First was Oceanside, second Temecula, and third was Palm Springs.

THE COASTAL TOWN OF OCEANSIDE

First on our itinerary was OCEANSIDE. This is a city that has undergone a remarkable transformation, shedding its previous reputation and emerging as a vibrant coastal haven. Indeed the city has witnessed a significant makeover, with an effort to give it a fresh new face. This change especially reflects a commitment to revitalizing the community, and turning Oceanside into a welcoming BEAUTIFUL destination with all the charm! It definitely left an impact on me, and I’m excited to go back again soon.

We stayed at the gorgeous SEABIRD HOTEL. What a stunning location with incredible views. Our rooms were so lovely and the service was impeccable! Truly a retreat for anyone! LOVED it there! Our first night we ate at ALL MINE. This is totally worth a visit to Oceanside, just to get the experience of their food! I have told so many people since returning home, it was the best food I’ve had at a restaurant in a very long time! I especially loved the lasagne as it was OFF THE CHART! The pizza, salad, hot bread…. oh my goodness what a feast! This was my personal favorite of the whole trip! Needless to say, we left stuffed!

Oceanside has a wonderful SURF MUSEUM, which is rich in surf history! Listening to their historian Jane, I couldn’t help but feel the enthusiasm of the surfing community and the culture of Oceanside. The display of Beth Hamilton’s story of when she was attacked by a shark, was fascinating to me. Not only did she survive a horrific attack, but has triumphed over it and such an inspiration! A really powerful exhibit!

Another activity this day was going out on the water with OCEANSIDE ADVENTURES for some whale watching. It was a beautiful day, but on the chilly side. Unfortunately, luck just wasn’t on our side…. no whales. They did however, give us NON-EXPIRING tickets to go back anytime.

Certainly a must in Oceanside, a stop at the iconic TOP GUN HOUSE, where we relived the classic movie! It should be noted, that this was the real house of the girlfriend in the movie. As well as adorable, they have mouth-watering HIGH PIE! In addition to that, just right around the corner was the THE OZONE shops, and WOW! I could have spent hours in there! The following morning, the MISSION PACIFIC HOTEL ROOFTOP became a serene sanctuary for our morning yoga class. Obviously the perfect setting to start our day. We were told by more than one person, that this is where you want to go for the very BEST VIEWS of Oceanside! Afterwards we met Shay, who is with VISIT OCEANSIDE, and grabbed a bite to eat at HIGH LOW ….. the avocado toast was delicious. Indeed the best brunch spot in town!

Rediscovering the beauty of California was a pure pleasure! Our next stop was Temecula and can’t wait to share!
