Healthy Snack Solutions I Love
As time has gone by, I’ve taken a new approach to health. In the beginning, I exercised and ate well to stay fit and trim. But, I’ve since had a mindset shift. Now I make healthy lifestyle choices because of how it makes me FEEL. When I eat healthy and move my body I feel SO much better. Are you wanting to eat healthier in the new year? Have you been wondering where to start? Let me share with you a few of my healthy snack solutions that are tasty and GOOD for you!
Veggies & Fruit With A Twist
Let’s start with some fruit and veggies, shall we? First up is the classic apples and peanut butter combo. Have you tried this before? It’s really simple. Just slice up your favorite kind of apple, put some peanut butter on a plate and dip away! If you have any grandchildren running around, they’ll love this one too. The next snack that’s PERFECT to satisfy any salty cravings between meals is veggies and hummus. You can make your own hummus or grab your favorite flavor from your local grocery store. My favorite veggies to dip in hummus are cucumbers, broccoli, cauliflower, and red bell peppers.
Now, what if you’re wanting to really load up on the nutrients? Try a green smoothie! There are tons of recipes out there for this. I just toss in my favorite fruits, some juice, and a little spinach into a blender! Speaking of tasty beverages, have you tried BOOST? It’s full of protein (which I tend to be low on) and SO delicious.
Yummy Finger Foods to Try
Maybe you’re working or running errands and need some easy finger food. My favorite go-to’s are almonds, walnuts, and plain popcorn. Nuts are great because they contain healthy fats and nutrients that our bodies need. They’re also good for heart health! Plain popcorn is another great finger food snack. It’s a whole grain and contains a lot of fiber but is low in calories. I’m not talking about your microwave or movie theater popcorn here. Just PLAIN popcorn! Buy some kernels and pop them in an air popper or in a pot over the stove. It’s SO good!

Thanks for sharing your snack ideas. I actually eat these yummy treats on a regular basis. I’ve never made my own hummus, but I do love it. I eat a lot of black berries and blueberries as well. I love popcorn. I enjoy the pop secret popcorn. It is lower in calories and very tasty! Probably healthier to eat plain popcorn, and I enjoy that as well. You look adorable in this pic! Have a great weekend.
Hi Melesa…… I’ll have to try that popcorn! I LOVE popcorn! My husband makes the best caramel corn and always late at night! Ugh!! He’s sweet but it kills me! LOL! I like blueberries with low-fat cottage cheese. This gives you calcium and antioxidants with very few carbs. Kind of sweet and sour together. And, it is filling!
Margo that sounds REALLY GOOD! I actually really love cottage cheese….. brings back childhood memories with jello!!! 🙂 Thank you so much for your input here! Have a great week! XO
