EASTER DRESSES A NOSTALGIC TRADITION

EASTER DRESSES NOSTALGIC TRADITION

Easter is a week away, and I apologize for this very late post on Easter dresses. My birthday week has thrown me off my normal routine, but I’ve had a wonderful non-routine celebration! However, these dresses are all beautiful spring and summer dresses, and most of them can even be worn to a wedding. In fact I’ve gotten several requests for wedding attire for guests, and these all could qualify.

Tradition very much surrounds the Easter holiday. DRESSES are part of the sweet memories I hold! Do you remember how you felt in your new Easter dress? I’ve written many times before about how my mama made most of my clothes growing up. My Easter dress was always something I looked forward to. The trip to the fabric store…. we would begin with choosing the pattern from the big McCall’s or Butterick books. But my favorite part was picking out the fabric, buttons, and lace.

Easter and spring dresses are all about feeling feminine. With all the soft, flowy, and delicate fabrics and styles right now, you can’t help but feel girly. From simple to more intricate patterns, dresses carry a timeless charm that transcends from generation to generation. And if you were like me, this memory of my childhood brings back beautiful memories of Easter and springtime.

Preparing for my upcoming vacation to Greece, which will be over the Easter holiday, has been really fun. I’ve been on a mission to hunt down the perfect dress for the holiday. Knowing I’d be in Greece, I wanted something BLUE to complement the stunning surroundings. I looked through all my favorite sites, to find something comfortable. Let me share……..

As I mentioned, I wanted something really comfortable. The two I found, THE ONE ABOVE, and the GRAPHIC PRINT BELOW (sold out) checked all the boxes for me. I do have a favorite of the two, but only room to pack one. However, I’ve been thinking….. since I really LOVE both, I’ll probably keep. They will be great clear through the summer months, so very much worth keeping…… wouldn’t you agree?

Finally, Easter dresses are more than just a dress. For me they are a symbol of tradition and nostalgia. As we celebrate this Easter season, think about the significance of this holiday. What does it mean to you? Does it carry those sweet memories like it does for me? I love what it symbolizes and hope that it stirs up wonderful thoughts for you too.
