MY CORDUROY STYLE GUIDE – A FALL FABRIC OF CHOICE

Do you love corduroy? My CORDUROY STYLE GUIDE is wintery and cozy just how you think of this fabric! It goes hand-in-hand with FALL! I remember as a young girl, a red corduroy dress my mother made for me. She also made me a maroon colored pantsuit. This was way back when we could finally wear DRESS PANTS to school. It’s been a favorite fabric ever since!!!!

THIS PULLOVER ABOVE is so darn cute! The boxy oversized fit is right on trend……. and the embroidery makes it unique and special. It comes in the WHITE pictured above, as well as the PINK shade below. It’s such a fun layering piece!

WHAT CORDUROY USED TO BE

Corduroy used to be pretty uncomfortable. It was stiff and could be really rough to the touch. But now it’s different and so much nicer and easier to wear. You can find super soft corduroy fabrics out there, and most I’ve seen actually have some stretch to them. The stretch is especially good when buying pants! Not only are they more comfortable, but the fit is better as well.

MY GUIDE TO THE BEST CORDUROY

THESE LAID BACK AND SLOUCHY, pants are really FUN! I actually don’t have them YET, but love the loose fit, but still fitted waist and tummy area. They come in these four colors and are 100% cotton. It’s recommended to SIZE DOWN, as they run big. Also important to note that they are meant to wear lower on your waist. The yellow is my personal fave!

I have THIS STYLE in multiple colors. Anthropoligie’s bestselling pant and there’s a reason why! They are super flattering and comfy. This corduroy version comes in TEN other colors! I LOVE them and have this particular pair on order!

Don’t stop with just pants….. what about a JUMPSUIT? I think this is super cozy! It also comes in a beautiful cinnamon color. Wear a leather jacket over the top or a big puffer coat or even an animal print faux fur jacket! I might need to add this one to my jumpsuit collection!

Look how feminine this FAUX FUR COLLAR JACKET is. Corduroy doesn’t have to look rugged! The fur detail is darling and really brings this corduroy to life! The collar is actually detachable, giving you another option. Wear it over a dress, skirt, trousers, jeans….. pretty much anything!

Lastly I wanted to share THIS DRESS. The style is very flattering, and I think it would be a beautiful choice for a Thanksgiving celebration. The sizes are very limited on this one so I apologize, but if it happens to be available in your size, you can’t go wrong! Wear it with a flat boot or shoe for comfort. You’ll feel dressed up but comfortable at the same time.

WHAT TO WEAR WITH CORDUROY

I personally don’t love corduroy on corduroy. I think mixing textures with it such as silk, denim, faux leather and ALL your sweaters is more interesting! When it comes to shoes, I say anything from boots, loafers, sneakers, or heels. Your outer layer could be a colorful scarf, a hat, and remember your coat will change up your whole vibe in an instant!
