GOLD THREADS OF TIMELESS ELEGANCE
There are certain pieces in my closet that stand the test of time, and will become cherished keepsakes someday. This vintage gold lace midi skirt is one such treasure that I’ve had for nearly ten years now. It’s from Alice and Olivia, one of my favorite brands. I bought it for NYFW (New York Fashion Week) way back when. I always bring it out this time of year because…. it’s festive and one of the most beautiful things in my closet!
I love it not only because of its exquisite craftsmanship, but the memories too. As I said, I wore it first in the hustle and bustle of NYC, as well as parties and celebrations, and also to a wedding. If occasion called for it, I’d pair it with sneakers and a graphic tee and feel totally fabulous! It’s definitely versatile, but may be hard for some to see its possibilities.

There are so many ways to take this skirt. It’s one you could wear ANY season, which adds to its appeal. Pair it with sweaters, jackets, tees, heels, boots, sandals, or sneakers. It’s really quite impressive how many looks you can get from this lace skirt. Make it glamorous and refined, or playful and laidback.
With so many of us being more conscientious about our dollars and choosing a more simplistic lifestyle, there’s a certain satisfaction in rediscovering treasures hidden in the back of our closets. Classic pieces will always be timeless. I love the idea of someday one of my gorgeous granddaughters wearing this to something special! Truly a precious heirloom that transcends generations.

Finally, these gold threads of timeless elegance may not be worn a lot, but when I do get this skirt out….. it’s always such fun. I will have it in a separate HOLIDAY COLLECTION area in my closet, so it’s readily available to wear throughout the NEW YEARS CELEBRATIONS!
