SWIMWEAR THAT I WOULD WEAR

Swimwear has honestly gotten harder and harder for me to want to wear. There’s just something about it that puts every little imperfection on display, and that’s not exactly my favorite! And I’m POSITIVE many of you feel the same way! But I’ve found that when I have suits, coverups, and full looks I actually feel good in, it becomes so much easier to embrace wearing a swimsuit and feel confident!

____________

I usually gravitate toward color and pattern, just like I do with my everyday outfits. But when it comes to swimwear, I’ve found myself leaning more toward solid colors….. there is a certain sophistication to them. Maybe it’s getting older, or maybe my style is just shifting, but I’m loving solids more than I ever have. I picked THIS ONE up for my recent trip and absolutely love it. The mocha color is beautiful, has a great fit, and a flattering back design. No question, this one felt really good on.

A good coverup will not only pull your look together, but make you feel better in your suit! I go for lightweight button-downs, breezy linen pull-on pants, or a simple sarong that I can tie multiple ways. Check out my look below. My coverup is actually a CHICO’S scarf I’ve had for several years. These pieces make it easy to go from the beach to anywhere else without needing a full outfit change. The key is choosing something that feels comfortable to YOU. I even wear cut-off DENIM SHORTS….. something I’ve worn over my suit since my younger years.

Without a doubt, your accessories are where everything comes to life. A wide-brim hat or visor can both add style to your look but more importantly give you the protection you need. And finally the proper sunglasses can really be the most fun! I should note, that MOST of my sunnies are very budget-friendly so I don’t have to worry about being too careful! In addition to this, I usually keep my jewelry very minimal, gold hoops or a simple necklace….. nothing too complicated.

____________

For footwear, I stick with easy, slip-on sandals. Sometimes it’s a budget-friendly pair and sometimes a more elevated leather option, but comfort is always a necessity. Neutral tones work with anything, but here again….. I do tend to gravitate to color too.

____________

With so many factors to consider, swimwear is ultimately about discovering what feels right you you! Whether you’re choosing an affordable find from Amazon or investing in something nicer, the key lies in selecting pieces that truly suit your style and comfort. From there, pairing them with simple coverups, easy sandals, and sun-ready accessories you’ll pull your whole look together. More importantly, when you feel both comfortable and confident, it naturally shines through…. and truly, that’s what it’s all about!
