NEW YEAR HEALTHIER YOU | WELLNESS TIPS FOR MIDLIFE WOMEN
The new year is the perfect time to make some powerful changes that support your health and wellness. As midlife women, focusing on small steps, can yield significant results. Here are some of my tips to help you feel your best in 2025…..
MOVE DAILY– It is so important to incorporate movement into your routine, whether it’s a fitness class, a brisk walk, golf round, or a tennis match. Staying active not only boosts your mood but also supports bone health and flexibility. And if you’re like me…. the flexibility thing is going fast! Having good gear will definitely motivate you to get out there!
PRIORITIZE HYDRATION – Hydration is key! For me, I’m really going to focus on getting my eight glasses of water a day! To make it easier, you could use a marked water bottle so you know exactly how much you’re drinking. I drink 2-3 8oz. glasses of water BEFORE I even go work out. Then after I drink my bottle of electrolytes after, I’m already at 5 servings. And did you know a CUTE water bottle will nudge you to drink more…. TRUTH!
NOURISH WITH INTENT – If you haven’t put into place yet, adopt a mindful and realistic approach to eating. Think of variety in fruits and veggies, with lean proteins, and whole grains. Nuts and greek yogurt, are excellent snacks that will give you energy. My go-to is an apple with peanut butter. I do love hummus with cut up veggies too. I also drink THESE RUVI (use code SHAUNA15) drinks. They’re quick and easy, and an excellent way to get your fruits and veggies.

INVEST IN REST – Quality sleep is so vital. If you can’t sleep…. ROUTINES are going to be your best friend. Calming rituals, yoga, meditation, and reading will be very helpful to you. Also COMFY JAMMIES will promote relaxation as well. They also do something for your mind…. “it’s time to sleep!” COZY BLANKETS also help me…. especially when I travel (yes I take one when I travel for the airplane and when I get to my destination. THESE are fantastic for travel! I even take one in the car for road trips.
SELF-CARE AS A PRIORITY – You’ve heard me talk over and over about my migraine headaches. This past year 2024, really took me on a journey of trying to figure out what causes them and how to prevent them. I’ve been able to understand that most of them are caused by stress and things I worry about that can be controlled better. My rituals, exercise, hydration, diet, and sleep all contribute. That’s a big reason why I’m so diligent when it comes to rituals and routines.

Great tips to incorporate into our daily lives. It’s amazing how developing and maintaining good habits can change a person’s attitude. Those little steps we take become a regular part of our days.
