MY ESCAPE TO PUNTA CANA
Just returned from the most memorable vacay from Punta Cana, in the Dominican Republic. I traveled there with APPLE VACATIONS, and took along with me my sweet daughter-in-law, Cambria. It was an experience I’ll cherish forever. Our stay at the all inclusive PARADISUS GRAND CANA was absolutely amazing!!
From our first steps onto this beautiful resort, we were welcomed with kindness. It was captivating to say the least!! We were greeted with the most delicious juice…. I usually stay away from treats like this, but it was too good to pass up. The resort’s architecture and design were beach luxury, and our spacious suites overlooking the swimming pool provided us with a breathtaking view. Each suite was furnished (and replenished every day) with a minibar full of snacks, water, soda….. as well as being treated to a fresh plate of fruit and nuts. It didn’t take us long to feel right at home!!!!

One of the standout features of the PARADISUS GRAND CANA is it’s an all-inclusive resort. If you’ve never experienced this…. it makes your vacation SO EASY! We were thrilled by the variety of dining options that were available to us. We found Asian, all-American, seafood, even some Mexican and Mediterranean cuisine. My favorite was the LOBSTER, which I actually ordered at two different restaurants. The breakfast buffet was absolutely fabulous. My custom made omelet and fresh fruit each morning was delicious.
OUR FIRST DAY
Our first full day we spent at the beach in Punta Cana, and it was just what we needed after a long day of travel the day before. We had a breathtaking view of the ocean, with a lovely breeze. The comfy lounge chairs situated under wide grassy umbrellas….. were perfect! And the towels….. oh my goodness, the SOFTEST imaginable. It was fun watching the lively beach vendors, offering their goods of jewelry and hats, and even iguanas and parrots. Yes we did hold the iguana and it wasn’t as bad as I had imagined. Cam was much braver than I! For lunch, we had some delicious local cuisine at the open-air restaurant just steps away from the beach.
DAY TWO – SPA
Our spa experience at Paradisus Grand Cana was another highlight. We met my bestie SheShe and her niece Caroline, who were also traveling with us. We indulged in the most heavenly massages, followed by a delightful treat of chocolate-covered strawberries and macarons. It was a day we wish we could have repeated! The MAIA SPA at the PARADISUS GRAND CANA was beautiful. There were also saunas and steam rooms to enjoy, which we spent some time in as well. We definitely felt like princesses and loved the pampering!
OUR THIRD DAY – SAONA ISLAND
Our third day we were up bright and early for an excursion to SAONA ISLAND, a picturesque paradise located a couple of hours away from the hotel. The all-day affair was designed for relaxation and enjoyment of the stunning blue waters. This area is famous for the backdrops to the films Blue Lagoon, and Pirates of the Caribbean. The population is only about 400 people with no internet. We spent the day soaking up the sun, swimming in the crystal blue sea, with a local inspired lunch of rice and beans. It was quiet and absolutely beautiful.
