Making The Cut On Amazon Prime TV

MAKING THE CUT on Amazon Prime TV is fast becoming an addiction for me. I wasn’t sure at first what it was all about. I hadn’t ever watched this show on Amazon Prime. Have you seen it? This is a competition in Fashion Design. They bring up and coming designers together to compete against each other in design. I’m telling you I’M HOOKED!

I have always thought it would be so fun to be a designer. Sometimes when I’m looking for a particular something, I wish I could just design and make it myself. This happens mostly when I have an event or function to attend, I ALWAYS have in mind EXACTLY what I want. I am very good at visualizing what that would look like, and always excited to begin the hunt!

But just imagine if YOU really could design it and make it yourself! That would be AMAZING, right?!! Making The Cut is a show where these designers are given an assignment, say “RESORT WEAR”, and then a certain amount of time to sketch and make and have it ready for a real fashion show. The time element makes it such fun, as you see them work under tremendous pressure.

Now back to this collaboration……..

I was contacted and asked if I’d be interested. Of course the answer was YES!! As I learned what exactly the show was about, it became more EXCITING to me! To be able to show off the WINNING DESIGNS the day after they are announced, is SO COOL!

This was the first look, RESORT WEAR, designed by Joshua. In the show he talks about how he was inspired at the beach, by the sand and water and telephone wires (of all things!) He sketched the fabric design of the kimono himself, which I think is incredible! You can totally see all those things within the pattern. He paired it with this amazing chartreuse colored paper-bag waist wide-leg pant and a simple top underneath. Boy…. did I ever feel like a SUPER MODEL in this look! It’s absolutely stunning!

What is so cool too, is that I will actually wear this! It isn’t so far out there, that you can’t wear this for everyday. The kimono is so easy to style with jeans, shorts, or bathing suits! The pants, I’ll wear with tees and sandals. I may just have to make a “REEL” and show you some ideas on Instagram!

So, if you’re not a fan of MAKING THE CUT, you may just want to check it out. If you LOVE fashion and design, THIS IS FOR YOU! Making The Cut on Amazon Prime has been a blast to follow!! I can’t wait to show you MORE! And boy oh boy, do I have more coming! I’ll be posting the WINNING LOOKS on my Instagram page every Saturday, for the next three Saturdays! They are SO MUCH FUN!!! I mean………. they are SO SUPER FABULOUS and I’m in LOVE with ALL of them.

WATCH IT HERE!

Have a great week friends!

  1. It’s a fabulous show with a real incentive to win: $1,000,000!! BTW, who else can they get that will show off their work better than you!

    1. YES SISTER! For sure $1,000,000 is a HUGE INCENTIVE! I am so hooked and can’t wait for the next episode! I’ve had such a blast photographing each look! Thank you! Stay tuned…… MORE GOOD STUFF COMING! Xoxoxoxo

  2. Shauna: What’s the deal with this kimono? It did not show up on your instagram last Saturday (you said you were posting the Make the Cut winners over four Saturdays), and I’ve followed every hint /direction mentioned (including the link provided after your answer to Carolle, above). Clicking on your pics of the outfit gets an Amazon message that the page can’t be found. I started out interested in the piece for an upcoming theater gala, buy now I’m thinking it’s hardly worth the chase! Any help/suggestions?

      1. You ARE “da gurl”! Thank you, as the link you sent got me through to Amazon! I’m now guessing that the problem was a tech glitch on my end (happens too often in my area). The kimono is gorgeous… but the description says it is 50″ long which means it would practically drag the floor on me! I’ve looked carefully at the pattern and I don’t think it can be made shorter (by me) without compromising the beautiful display. Is there any chance it will be made available in a shorter version for us “vertically challenged” gals?
