CELEBRATING SIX YEARS OF MARRIAGE
It’s hard to believe SIX YEARS now, that we’ve been married! How does time go by so quickly? I thank God every morning for the husband I’ve been blessed with. I love what my marriage has taught me, how it has shaped me, and how it has made me a better person.
STILL NEWLYWEDS
After six years of marriage, we’ve definitely grown more comfortable with each other….. and I love that. Somewhere along the way, the whole “newlywed” label faded, and honestly, I think that’s a good thing. With that comfort comes the freedom to be completely myself, and knowing my husband can do the same.
HOW WE HAVE BOTH ADAPTED
Marriage is about learning and adapting. I’ve had to adjust to his pace and his way of doing things, just as he’s been willing to change for me. One of his love languages is cooking….. he enjoys it so much and is good at it! I’m the one that comes in afterwards to clean up. When he senses something might be bothering me, he quietly steps in to help. Whether it’s cleaning the floors, starting a load of laundry, or scrubbing the corners of the shower…. those little acts mean so much.
With him now retired and me still working full-time, sharing the same roof has been both a blessing and a challenge. My job is intense, filled with deadlines and constant demands. Finding the right balance between work and time together doesn’t always come easily. I’m always mindful of how I can find better ways to keep things steady, so we can truly enjoy this season of life together.
POSSIBLE CHALLENGES
Second marriages can bring their own challenges, such as blending traditions and finding balance in communication styles. I never planned on getting divorced and marrying a second time. It’s impossible to imagine what challenges might arise, until you are in it. But what I’ve learned, is that when BOTH choose to work together in love and respect, it makes all the difference!
THE THINGS I LOVE ABOUT MY MAN
I love that my husband is compassionate, mellow, and one of the most steady people I know. He’s honest, has integrity, and passionate about his beliefs. He is the best Instagram husband ever, making my crazy ideas come to life. He’s always willing to help me with my content, even coming up with his own ideas about how I should create something. I’m grateful for his kindness, and his affectionate “Dear” and “Honey.” He is truly a wonderful blessing!
