HOW TO REINVENT YOUR STYLE

HOW TO REINVENT YOUR STYLE

Have you ever looked inside your closet and felt completely uninspired? Reinventing your style doesn’t mean getting rid of everything you own or becoming someone you’re not. That’ actually the worst thing! It’s about taking a fresh look at what you wear and making sure your clothes reflect the woman you are today….. TODAY being the key word.

Before you buy a single new piece, ask yourself….. How do I want to feel when I get dressed? Maybe you want to feel more polished and put-together, more comfortable and relaxed, or perhaps you’re ready to add more color and edge to your wardrobe. Your style should reflect who you are now…. not five or ten years ago. Once you know how you want your clothes to make you feel, it becomes much easier to decide what belongs in your closet and what doesn’t.

Personally, I want my style to be a lot of things at different times. Some days I want to feel polished and put together, while other days I’m happiest in something easy and comfy. And then there are the days I want to have a little more fun with what I’m wearing….. which for me, usually means color. My style doesn’t fit into just one category, and I think that’s exactly how it should be.

Pay attention to outfits that catch your eye on Pinterest, Instagram, blogs, or women you see in everyday life. Save the looks you love and look for common themes. You may notice that you’re drawn to bold color, classic pieces, interesting accessories, or more relaxed silhouettes. This is probably what you should focus more on.

Sometimes reinventing your style is simply about wearing your existing clothes differently. Pair a dressy jacket with jeans, add sneakers to a feminine dress, or try a color combination you’ve never worn before. Ladies it really can be so much fun to play in your closet. And when it works, you’ll feel like a million bucks!

A FUN COLOR COMBO TO TRY

Accessories are one of the easiest and most affordable ways to change your look. A colorful scarf, statement necklaces or earrings, a modern handbag, belt, or a fabulous pair of shoes can completely transform a basic outfit.

This is where discipline comes in. If something no longer fits, feels uncomfortable, or doesn’t represent your current lifestyle, give yourself permission to let it go. Your closet should support the life you’re living now….. not the life you lived ten years ago.

The best style reinvention isn’t about following every trend. It’s about becoming more intentional, experimenting with new ideas, and wearing clothes that make you feel a little more confident. Style should be fun and personal…. and it absolutely should always be evolving, just like you!
