TIMELESS ELEGANCE IN TROUSERS
Trousers have quickly become a new favorite for me! Not only are they incredibly versatile, but they bring such an elegant and refined look to any outfit. What I love most about trousers is how effortlessly they transition from casual to dressy. You can take a pair of well-fitted trousers and style them up or down, creating the perfect look for any occasion. They are the perfect wardrobe staple for creating a fabulous juxtaposition…. balancing casual and sophisticated to create a look that’s both unexpected and stylish.
Recently, I wore these bright orange trousers to a conference in Savannah, and I was absolutely in love with the entire outfit. The vibrant color added a fun pop to the day, and loved them with the feminine top. This cute lace polo shirt with crystal buttons, and low-heel cream ballet styled shoes, were perfect. The whole ensemble was comfortable, chic, and polished…. everything I could have hoped for in a conference setting!
Trousers aren’t just for work though. They can easily be dressed down for a casual Saturday afternoon. I’d pair these orange beauties with a simple white tee, sneakers, and a crossbody bag for a laid-back look that’s perfect for running errands or meeting friends for lunch. These would be perfect for traveling, because of the options. And I love that they’re so different from your normal pair of jeans.
THE HISTORY OF TROUSERS
A little history on trousers for women…… did you know they only became mainstream in the early 20th century? Before then, pants were considered men’s wear. As women started working during wartime, practicality took precedence over fashion. Trousers slowly gained acceptance, becoming a staple in women’s wardrobes for both work and leisure. Remember Katharine Hepburn and her FABULOUS style…. often seen in trousers.
