MY REAL-LIFE MAKEUP ROUTINE
If you’ve followed me for a while not, you know that I’ve never been one to fuss over makeup. Although I do love it, if it takes too much time, I’m not interested. Makeup makes me feel more polished and confident. But honestly…… I have very little patience (or desire) to spend more than ten minutes putting makeup on. I want my routine to be quick, effective, and pretty. FIVE MINUTES is all I need for everyday.
START WITH A CLEAN FACE
I always start with a cleansed and moisturized face, ALWAYS. The products I’ve been using are linked below. I LOVE this brand, it’s clean and fresh and my skin responds to it really well!
A SOFT GLOWY EYE
Next is THIS eyeshadow primer. I apply it from my lash line to brown bone and blend it in. The color I use is called PAINTERLY. You don’t need much. THIS eyeshadow palate, comes next. I use any one of the lighter shades. Again I apply from lashes to brow. My REVANT GEL EYELINERS (HERE) are next. They won’t smudge and they seriously glide on really easily, and it will stay on all day. THIS MASCARA for lashes…. it’s my favorite and won’t smudge either. It also comes off very easy. Note: make SURE to remove and cleanse your face before bed!!!
EVEN TONED SKIN
I then apply this FOUNDATION PRIMER (Laura Mercier makes the best I think) and then my foundation, (THIS ONE for everyday). I blend it just with my fingers, I don’t like sponges or brushes because I think you lose too much product that way. I use THIS ONE foundation if I’m going out, and want a little more coverage.
FINAL THREE FINISHING TOUCHES
Then I grab my STICK BLUSH (another discover thanks to my granddaughter) and blend it in with my fingers. I add some EYEBROW GEL to finish the eyes off, and finally, a quick mist of SETTING SPRAY….. yet ANOTHER recommendation from my granddaughter. She’s the best to shop for makeup with!! This spray has been a game-changer. I had never used one before and it makes such a difference not only in how long your makeup lasts, but gives your face a pretty finish.
OH! And then always a bit of lip gloss. Even at home, my lips feel so bare without it. Some of my favorite colors for everyday…..
