GRATITUDE FOR THE JOURNEY – THE BEGINNINGS OF CHIC OVER 50

Looking back at the very beginnings of CHIC OVER 50, I’m reminded of how much growth and change have shaped my journey. Going through those early photos stirs up a mix of emotions. There’s joy and excitement of course, but also memories of the challenges I faced during that time….. especially navigating a turbulent marriage. Life felt so uncertain then, yet here I am now, standing in a space of comfort, safety, and overwhelming gratitude. My life today is so different, and I’m deeply thankful for how far I’ve come.

The idea of starting a social media platform was introduced to me at just the right time. It was a chance to channel my creativity into something meaningful, though I’ll admit that running a business had never entered my mind, nor is it my strong suit. But creating and fashion…. that’s another story. Through countless hours of hard work and determination, I’ve learned how to navigate this world of blogging and influencing, one step at a time.

For anyone dreaming of starting a blog, here are a ten tips that have guided me and made me successful……

BE PASSIONATE: Your passion will shine through and keep you motivated.

WORK HARD: Success doesn’t come overnight, and dedication is key. Without a doubt you have to know that this is HARD WORK!

STAY CONSISTENT: Posting regularly builds trust and loyalty with your audience.

BE AUTHENTIC: People connect with realness, so always stay true to yourself.

ADAPT: You should know that social media is always evolving. Stay informed and be willing to learn and grow.

ENGAGE: Building a community means connecting and responding to your audience.

HIRE HELP IF NEEDED: If photography or design isn’t your strength, don’t hesitate to get professional help. Same goes with any other aspect of your business. I’m running everything myself…. for now.

DEFINE YOUR NICHE: Focus on what makes you unique and build your content around that.

LEARN ANALYTICS: Understanding your audience and their preferences through analytics helps define your strategy.

INVEST IN TOOLS: Editing software along with scheduling platforms, indeed the right tools can save time and enhance your content.
