CHIC MOTHER’S DAY LOOKS

Mother’s Day is just around the corner, and it’s the perfect occasion to indulge in a little self-care and treat yourself to a stylish outfit. Obviously for your celebrations, you’ll want to look for something CHIC and COMFY. Whether you’re spending the day with family or enjoying some well-deserved “me” time, I’ve linked some beautiful selections that would be perfect for Mother’s Day. SHOP MY LOOK ABOVE, RIGHT HERE……

Maxi dresses have to be the best choice in my opinion. There isn’t anything that will make you feel more feminine and comfortable at the same time. Choose a silhouette that skims the body for a flattering fit. Pair it with flats or heels depending on where you’ll be. Your accessories can either dress it way up or down. This is a perfect look for brunch or church service.

Skirts would be my second choice. You’ll always find them extremely versatile and have such an understated elegance to them. I love mine with t-shirts and sneakers. Playful prints and vibrant colors are what I look for. Wear them with a simple blouse in a complimentary shade or pull out those tees and wear with a pair of heels. Again, ask yourself what you’ll be doing and then style it accordingly.

Longer lengths are trending this spring and make a stylish, comfortable choice for a Mother’s Day picnic. A tailored pair in a neutral color paired with a breezy blouse creates an effortless elegant spring look. Don’t forget to accessorize…. this can really make your outfit pop! I personally love wearing shorts with heels for just a touch of glam.

Have you thought about a set? They are all the rage right now, and there is so much to choose from. I’ve found everything from casual girly athletic sets, to short sets, some beautiful linen, and the loose fitting sets that work for travel too! Finish your look off with some statement jewelry to make it your own…. and don’t forget CUTE SHOES! Really, so important!

My first pick however, would be a cute maxi dress. Here are two more that are super affordable. I have to tell you….. the pink one reminds me so much of one that my mama made me when I was a teenager. Mine was off-white, same style, but rainbow rows of the rick-rack trim along the ruffled sleeves and bottom. I wish I still had it! I think it was my very favorite of ALL the dresses she sewed for me.

  1. Hi, I love your style! Do you have recommendations for someone tall am with a large chest? You’re quite petite! 🙂

    1. Hello Tracey! Thank you for stopping by! It’s hard to know exactly without seeing you or knowing what you’re looking for exactly. But I would say that if you’re top heavy (large chest) not to emphasize that but wear tunic style tops. I don’t know if that helps or not? I would love to know more specifics! Let me know! XOXO

  2. Hello Shauna, I just love your blog so much… you have inspired me to get back into caring about my outfits again! (which is a very big deal after too many years of neglecting that part of me while putting lifes responsibilities first – then a major accident happening to my husband to cap it all off. (He survived.)) But I am just 41, do you happen to know of anyone like you but for my age group? Thank you so much xo

    1. Hi Rebecca…. THANK YOU THANK YOU! That is exactly why I love to do what I do! It’s so rewarding knowing that I was the means to someone’s success in becoming the best version of themselves! What a scary thing with your husband and glad he’s ok!!! Do you mean an influencer in their 40’s? Let me know! XOXO

  3. You are absolutely adorable and very fashionable!

Being into clothes and SHOES since I was 3 years old and I’m almost 64, I really appreciate what you are doing, lifting up women, sharing stories of life, so THANK YOU!

I’ve been made fun of my entire life for my clothing choices, which used to hurt my feelings, but now, I embrace my uniqueness:)

    1. Cynthia….. YES! That’s what you do, embrace YOU!!! That’s probably one of the things that I would tell my younger self way back when. One of the best parts of being older, is the confidence you have in yourself. Thank you for stopping by and come back again soon! I truly do appreciate it!!!!!!!!!!! XO
