WHAT TO WEAR IN EARLY FALL WHEN IT’S STILL HOT ~ EASY OUTFIT IDEAS
Early fall can be one of the trickiest times of the year to get dressed. You’re ready for all the beautiful fall fashion, but the weather is still saying SUMMER! The good news is you don’t need sweaters, jackets, and heavy layers to make your outfit feel more seasonal. A few simple changes can take what you’re already wearing right into fall.

START WITH FALL COLORS

One of the easiest things to do is simply change your color palette. Keep wearing your lightweight tees, tanks, skirts, and dresses, but bring in shades like chocolate brown, deep purples olive, camel, and deeper reds. Even a summer-weight outfit instantly feels more like fall when the colors change. Think…. summer fabrics and fall colors for the easiest early fall formula.
Here in THIS BLOG I talk about RICH FALL COLORS and actually have twelve pieces linked for you to shop.

SWITCH UP YOUR DENIM
This is also when I start reaching for darker wash denim instead of my light summer washes. The deeper color makes even a simple pair of jeans and a T-shirt feel more fall-like. And don’t put those white jeans away! I love white denim in the fall. Try them with a tee in a rich autumn color and add booties, loafers, a beautiful brown heel (like the look above), or a great fall sneaker.
Also in the same blog post HERE I’ve talked about darker denims as well, where I’ve linked eight darker washes to shop.

LET YOUR ACCESSORIES DO THE WORK
Accessories are another easy transition. Swap a straw bag for leather or suede, add a heavier belt, wear a scarf, even more substantial jewelry can make your look seem more like fall. Changing your footwear from sandals to loafers, ballet flats, sneakers, or ankle boots also moves an outfit towards fall without adding warmth.
No surprise that these two sites HERE and HERE are my go-to’s for accessories.
ADD LIGHT LAYERS ~ ONLY WHEN YOU NEED THEM
A lightweight button-down, vest, denim shirt, or cardigan thrown over your shoulders gives you that layered fall look without overheating.
__________
Early fall style really is about small changes…. the simplest tweaks will make a difference. Wear what you already love, then simply change the color, texture, denim wash, or accessories to make it feel on point for the season.
