It’s Almost Time!

THIS WEEK…..it’s almost time!!!! If you’re like me, and I can bet MOST of you are….when it’s time for your hair appointment, you are MORE than ready! With a short pixie cut like mine, it’s a necessity to go in monthly for a clean-up! And with a short pixie that’s colored…..it’s even more important that you’re in her (or his) chair regularly!!! I’ve blogged about this before, but I’ll say it again, this is my routine with my hair……

Month 1)  Full color and cut

Month 2)  Only a cut

Month 3)  Gloss and cut

Then I repeat. This week I’m going in for the full color and cut and I CANNOT wait! With my hair this platinum color I do love the look of roots coming through. But by the time I get close to the 3rd month, the back of my hair is quite dark, so I’m ready! I’ve been home for the last week recovering from a full reconstructive knee surgery. No makeup, practically no showers, no getting dressed up, and no exercise!!!! It has been brutal!!!!!! I’ve been in SO MUCH pain, which has been a bit unexpected. I thought I would have been able to breeze through the first week a bit easier! NOT! I ventured out on Sunday for a bit to be with my beautiful little granddaughters as they performed in their annual church program. And did they nail it? YEP!!!! LOVE them!!!!! It felt so good to be out in the world again! But back to my hair…..

I’ve recently changed to a different stylist. The reason being….my new one just happened to be much more convenient and works at an AVEDA hair salon which I’m a total lover of all things AVEDA! It was just a better fit for me. Harley, pictured here, has done MAGIC with my hair! I love her vivacious and confident personality! But more so I love her touch when it comes to my hair! Don’t you feel like if your hair looks good, you feel good, and vice-a-versa??? I know I do! She also does wonders on my eyelashes and brows!!!! She seems to know just what products my hair needs, and is very simple when it comes to styling…..not too overdone! She just recently led me to the hair serum linked below, which I LOVE!!! And let me just tell you again, how much I LOVE this salon! It’s run so impeccably from the time you call for your appointment to when you walk out the door!!! That is SO IMPORTANT to me. If when I call and nobody answers, or I have to leave messages with no return call back…..I can get real frustrated, real fast!!!!!! None of this happens here at Landis Aveda in Salt Lake City. I would recommend it to anyone, and highly recommend HARLEY for you hair!

This is my new favorite product right now…a weightless smoothing lotion. It works on all hair types. It makes my hair feel so good!!! I rub a small amount of the serum through my wet hair before styling. It makes it so silky and shiny!

HAVE A GREAT WEEK friends….and hopefully I’ll be able to get back in the gym very, very soon!!!!! And if you think about it…go get some exercise for me!!!

Shauna…..XO

  6. What foods / meals do you eat daily. You said you seem to repeat the same meals. I do as well!! Just wanted what you eat for enough protein and how many mini meals a day ? Thank you, thank tou?

    1. Hi Julie, I eat breakfast always, after I work out, and then another meal with a couple small snacks in between. Honestly though, it really varies! I’m not super strict that way. My proteins are nuts, eggs, yogurt, and some chicken and fish. XO

  7. Are you getting something different? Honestly, you are so pretty, so petite and with your beautiful smile, I think you could go even shorter on your pixie! You could pull it off perfectly. Anxious to see your hair!

    1. Hi Deb! No I just went in for my normal cut and color! I have worn it shorter yes, but I’m wanting the front a bit longer right now because it looks better with hats!!! Thanks for your comment! XO

  8. I love your hair! I’ve recently went shorter with my pixie and platinum but my hair pulls gold. I would love to know what platinum shade your stylists use on you. I also want to know about your gloss and cut. Feel better soon ?

      1. My hair pulls gold/yellow also so I’ll have try this conditioner too!
I’ve been trying to get your cut but doesn’t look as cute ? is your hair thick/coarse? Mine is fine and thin, maybe the problem!

    1. Hi Lizzy….it’s been a bit brutal! So much tougher than I expected. Each day is better though! It’s always good to hear from you!!! XO

  11. Hi,
Like everyone, I love your look. Just wanted to say that I feel your pain – I had a new knee 11 months ago that went pear shaped with nerve damage and the pain has been worse than giving birth every day for a month. Hang in there!

  12. Hi Shauna, wishing you a swift and speedy recovery. I happened on your posts and have started to adopt your accents and style. You are such an inspiration for me. You are such a beautiful woman. Thank you for your blog as well. ❤️

  13. I went to see Harley for a cut when visiting my daughter in SLC. The best cut EVER! I’d love to have her work her magic on my color change ,but it’s so hard being out of state. My next visit will definitely include another cut.
